Your Local Glazing Experts

Alan Ward Glass and Glazing has been serving Jersey since 1995. We’re not a big firm and we like it that way. Our focus is on genuine service, traditional techniques and good old fashioned reliability.

Over the decades we've built a strong reputation across the island for honest, high-quality work and dependable service.

Alan Ward

In 1983, he moved to Jersey to become a glass cutter and machinist at Spectraglaze, where he also learned how to manufacture double-glazed units.

In 1996, he co-founded Alan Ward Glass & Glazing Ltd — and the rest, as they say, is history.

Jo McKenzie

Jo McKenzie

JM Emporium Stained Glass

Stained Glass & Leaded Panel Artisan
Joanne first learnt the skill of stained glass art from a young girl in her father's studio back in 2008. As a teenager she was taught the traditional way of taking apart and building stained glass leaded panels, including cutting and painting on glass.

In 2019, she opened the doors to JM Emporium which can now be found in Lumen Studios in Halkett place where she has a range of stained glass for sale and at the back her very own little workshop.

Joanne has worked locally on a couple of restoration projects such as diamond leaded panels in Elizabeth Castle, the stained glass ceiling in the Memorial Hall in Howard Davis Park, diamond repairs in St Mark's Church, St Ouen's Manor and is currently working on St Saviour's Parish Hall.

Alongside restoration work, she also does creation work for private houses starting from the initial design process through to building the panels.

It is safe to say Joanne loves a challenge and is inspired to share more and more of her own designs with Jersey with work inspired by Jersey sceneries and its heritage.

Bolt Icon Our story

Our story

Over the decades we've built a strong reputation across the island for honest, high-quality work and dependable service. It all began over 40 years ago when Alan first learned the glazing trade in Liverpool, trained the old-school way... putty, pins, and hacking knives.

Alan moved to Jersey where he met and married Karen. The two co-founded Alan Ward Glass & Glazing Ltd and together they built the business from the ground up. Along the way they taught all five of their kids the trade, passing down both skills and values.

Today their son Aiden, after spending 12 years on the tools, now helps guide the business as it continues to grow. Together, the team is committed to training the islands next generation of traditional glazers, preserving the island’s heritage windows and doors while still delivering exceptional service across Jersey.
